The Spanish export of flowers and live plants increased by 2% from January to April 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, according to data from the Customs and Excise Department of the Tax Agency, processed and published by FEPEX .
This increase places Spanish sales abroad at 275.3 million euros , of which up to 83% corresponded to plants and therefore stood at 230.1 million (+3%).
Of the ornamental plants , the ones that were exported the most were outdoor ones, with 116.7 million (+4%), followed by trees and shrubs , with 44.8 million (+2%). Regarding cut flowers , sales totaled 27.1 million euros, 6% less, highlighting rose bushes, with 3.7 million, and carnations, with 3.1 million euros. It is followed by foliage , with 14.3 million euros and a growth of 16%, and bulbs , with 3.7 million euros and a fall of 18%.
