Turnover of Royal FloraHolland increase a 3% in 2019 to reach 4,791 millions

The largest marketplace of ornamental horticulture in the world, Royal FloraHolland, has just made public its annual report for the year 2019.

Royal FloraHolland is one of the leading companies in the horticultural world, and it symbolizes the potential of a market in the Netherlands is the fourth largest industry in the country.

Seen from the Spanish context, their main figures of the overwhelm:

  • More than 100,000 transactions per day
  • More than 20,000 varieties of flowers and plants served
  • Most of 2.450 customers
  • More than 5,400 suppliers
  • More than 2,500 employees

In the year 2019, as can be read in their annual report, billed 4.791 million euros, 3% more than in the previous year, of which 55% correspond to cut-flower, a 36% to indoor plants, and the remaining 9% to garden plants.

Of those 4.791 billion, 40% came from sales in the auction regular, while direct sales through online channels accounted already for 60% of the total, which means an increase of 5.9% compared to the year 2018.

In the ranking of countries receiving their products, in first place is the German market, with 27% of the total is the main destination of the company, doubling the second in the ranking, which is the United Kingdom with 14%. Spain is 15th place, with 2% of the total and similar to countries like Denmark, Austria or the Czech Republic.
