Iberflora, the International Fair of Plants and Flowers, Landscaping, Technology and Bricojardín, has announced the election of Raúl Ferrer , commercial director of Orvifrusa, as the new president of the event. In this way, Ferrer, until now vice-president of Iberflora, takes the witness of Óscar Calabuig , who has held the position for nine years.
Raúl Ferrer is a great connoisseur of the green sector, in which he has developed his career, and actively participates in sectorial associations such as the Professional Association of Flowers, Plants and Horticultural Technology of the Valencian Community (Asfplant) or in the newly formed Association of Marketers of Ornamental Plant (ACPO) .
The new president faces this new stage at the head of Iberflora as "a very exciting challenge, especially in the case of the 50th anniversary of the fair." Among the first objectives of the fair after the celebration of the virtual edition of Iberflora Digital Business, Ferrer has highlighted the need to "maintain the growth trend that the event had achieved in its last editions." "The pandemic has taken away that feeling of closeness, the fact of seeing each other in person and being able to shake hands. The intention is to be able to return to normality as much as possible, and to convey to both the exhibitor and the visitor that it is possible to hold a face-to-face event with security and guarantees", he points out.
Ferrer wanted to show the appreciation of the entire sector to the outgoing president, Óscar Calabuig, "for his excellent work during the eight years of dedication. A period in which Iberflora has reinvented itself after the tough economic crisis of 2008 and has consolidated its role as the benchmark fair of the green sector in Spain", they stand out from the event
A face-to-face edition in 2021
From the Iberflora organization they point out that they aspire to hold a face-to-face contest this 2021, and they affirm that "although it is pending to know the rhythm of the vaccination process, in addition to how mobility restrictions evolve during this year, expectations are good and it is expected to celebrate Iberflora 2021 with all the security guarantees".
On the question of security, from Iberflora they emphasize that "Feria Valencia has developed its own protocol against COVID that turns its venue into a safe space against the pandemic. The dimensions of the fair space and its technical and human equipment allow to maintain all the measures of social distance, capacity control, temperature registration at the entrances, exhaustive cleaning, air renewal among others, which make the Valencia Fair space the better equipped of the Valencian Community to host any type of activity that requires the participation of a large number of people".
