46 Spanish companies engaged in the production and export of ornamental plants, seven more than in the previous edition, will participate next week at the International
IPM of flowers and plants that will be held in Essen (Germany) from
22 to 25 January.
Of the 46 Spanish companies exhibiting at
IPM, 23 from Valencia, 11, Catalonia, Andalusia 7, 3 Islands and 2 of Galicia. Participating companies are integrated in
FEPEX through their respective associations: the
Association of flowers, plants and horticulture technology of Valencia,
the Federation of Farmers and Nurserymen of Catalonia,
the Andalusian Association of Nurseries and flower growers ,
Association of Growers and Exporters of Flowers and Plants of Canary Islands,
Association of Ornamental Plant Producers Galicia.
Spanish companies last year valued the results of their participation in
IPM Essen trade fair, the largest in the world in the ornamental plant sector. Germany is also one of the main destinations for Spanish exports, which continues to grow in recent years.
Remember that Spanish exports of live plants and cut flowers from January to October 2012 increased in value by 15% over the same period of 2011, totaling 2
33 million euros, according to data maintained by the Department of Customs and Excise Special Minister of Economy and Competitiveness, processed by
FEPEX .
Spanish participation in
IPM is part of an agreement signed between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and
FEPEX , which aims to promote the production and quality of the flower and live plant Spanish in international markets.
