Special Horticultural Plus substrate, the novelty of Gramoflor in 2024

As a result of our commitment and desire to improve, in recent years we have focused on the search for more sustainable raw materials and alternatives to peat.

In this way, within our sustainability policy, we have managed to be more respectful of the environment every day, without undermining the quality of our products, offering effective substrates with the maximum guarantee.

By combining these raw materials with peat and other additives and fertilizers, at Gramoflor Ibérica we have been able to create a range of products with a fine-medium structure for the most demanding horticultural crops in trays with up to 150 cells: the Special Horticultural and ES Melon+Watermelon.

These substrates, in addition to peat, also incorporate alternative raw materials such as gramFLAKES® and gramCOCOPLUS, and sometimes some perlite, according to the needs of each producer and which work very well in horticultural grafts due to their tight fertilization.

This type of more rigorous crops, both in irrigation management and nutrition, is more focused on fruit-bearing horticultural species, such as melon, watermelon, zucchini, pepper, etc.

In 2024, we have further evolved these recipes, creating another similar to the previous ones: the Horticultural Plus Special. With a little more fertilization, it is designed for those crops in trays with 54 and 70 alveoli, which require either a little more nutrition, or longer-lasting nutrition. In addition, we have incorporated our special additive gramoXchange®, which increases the Cationic Exchange Capacity, facilitating the disposal of nutrients for plants.

With this line of seedbed products, we increase our offer of substrates produced at Gramoflor Ibérica, the new substrate production plant in Spain, thus offering solutions to any type of client anywhere on the peninsula, quickly and efficiently.
