The Spanish gardening sector reached 1,075 million euros in turnover in 2023 and chained three years of growth , after increasing 4.5% in 2021, 6.4% in 2022 and 8% in 2023. These are the data that emerge from the study carried out by the DBK Sector Observatory of INFORMA . However, the report lowers the forecasts for the 2024-2025 biennium, for which it expects growth of between 4% and 5% .
The Observatory points out that the good data for 2023 is due to "good behavior in demand, in a context of increasing contracts for the construction and maintenance of green spaces and a growing trend towards the outsourcing of gardening services."
According to the study, the provision of services to public clients represents 70% of the total market, reaching 755 million in 2023 , which is 9.4% more than in 2022. Regarding the private sector, it experienced more growth. moderate, 4.9%, with 320 million euros, that is, which translates into the remaining 30% of the business.
Of the companies that provide gardening services in Spain – 14,700 registered in January 2023 – 84% correspond to natural persons, while only the remaining 16% had legal personality. Regarding the concentration of market share, the top five operators account for 38% of the total business volume, a percentage that stands at 52.8% when considering the top ten competitors.
