SANA was established in 1989 as a natural food fair.

In 2007, responsibility for the secretariat BolognaFiere redefines the exhibition areas and places within the guiding idea of ​​the good life. It is a new concept of wellness and provides a cross between healthy eating and good, between pleasure and feeling good, between technology and design, the environment without sacrificing beauty.

The Permanent Observatory on consumption and attitudes of Italians led by Giampaolo Fabris, with the aim of providing information on trends in the evolution of the motivations for consumption. The instrument is an annual survey, conducted in a representative sample of adults that explores the major issues.
